The Account page holds the settings of your own account. Every member can open it. To open it, go to Settings, then select Account in the Personal group. The page has four cards: Profile, Security, My SSH keys, and Agent tokens.

Display name

Other people in your organization see your display name. Stout also uses the display name as your name on a box lock. You must set a display name before you can lock a box or run a test from Select Test. To change your display name:
  1. In the Profile card, select Edit next to Display name.
  2. Enter the new name. A display name can have up to 255 characters.
  3. Select Save name.
A display name must be unique in each organization that you belong to. Stout ignores letter case and extra spaces when it compares two names. If another member uses the name, Stout refuses it. If you sign in through SSO, Stout takes your first display name from the name that your identity provider sends. After that, an SSO sign-in does not change your display name. See Single sign-on.

Lock names and the Lager CLI

When you lock a box, Stout holds the lock under your display name, with each space changed to a dot. For example, the display name Alice Smith locks a box as Alice.Smith. If you also lock boxes with the Lager CLI, give the CLI the same name. Then Stout and the CLI both recognize the lock as yours. The Edit display name dialog shows the command for your name:
Stout also recognizes a lock as yours when the CLI holds it under your email. For more about locks, see Box locks.

Email

To change the email that you sign in with:
  1. In the Profile card, select Change next to Email.
  2. Enter the New email.
  3. Enter your Current password.
  4. Select Update email.
When the email changes, Stout signs out all of your other devices. The new email starts as unverified. An unverified email cannot save an SSO configuration. An account that signs in only through SSO has no Stout password, so it cannot change its email here.

Password

To change your password:
  1. In the Security card, select Change next to Password.
  2. Enter your Current password.
  3. Enter the New password, then enter it again in Confirm new password.
  4. Select Update password.
The new password must have 8 to 256 characters, and it must be different from the current password. Stout refuses a password that is on a public list of breached passwords. When you change your password, Stout signs out all of your other devices. An account that signs in only through SSO has no Stout password to change. If you cannot sign in, use Forgot password? on the sign-in page, or ask an owner or admin for a password reset link.

SSH keys

Your SSH public keys let you connect to boxes over SSH. Stout copies your keys to each box that you can access. Owners and admins can access every box in the organization. A member can access the boxes that an owner or admin assigns to the member. Without a key, you can use the dashboard and the Lager CLI, but you cannot connect to a box over SSH.

Add a key

  1. In the My SSH keys card, select Add key.
  2. Enter a Name for the key, for example Work laptop.
  3. Paste the whole public key into Public key.
  4. Select Add key.
Stout copies the key to your boxes, usually within a minute.
Paste only a public key. A public key starts with its type, for example ssh-ed25519. Never paste a private key.
Stout accepts Ed25519, ECDSA, and RSA keys, and the security-key forms of Ed25519 and ECDSA. You can add up to 10 keys. You cannot add the same key two times.

Set up a key from the banner

If you have no SSH key, the dashboard shows the banner You have no SSH key yet. Select Set up SSH key to open a short guide:
  1. Run the command that the guide shows. The command prints your id_ed25519.pub key.
  2. Paste the whole line that the command printed.
  3. Select Add SSH Key.
If the command reports that the file does not exist, select these instructions in the guide. The guide then shows the commands that create a new key. To hide the banner for this browser session, select the X on the banner. The banner comes back in a new browser session until you add a key.

Remove a key

To remove a key, select Remove next to the key, then select Remove in the dialog. Stout removes the key from every box that has it. An SSH session that uses the key stays connected until the session ends.

Agent tokens

An agent token lets an AI agent, for example Claude Code, read your boxes through Stout. The agent sees the nets, the instruments, the device under test and its documents, and the driver API of each box. The agent can also rank your boxes for a test. The agent cannot run anything on a box. You run tests with the Lager CLI. A token acts as you in the selected organization. It sees only the boxes that you can access. If you leave the organization, your tokens stop at once.

Create a token

  1. In the Agent tokens card, select New token.
  2. Enter a Name for the token, for example Work laptop.
  3. Enter the number of days until the token expires. Leave the field empty for a token that does not expire.
  4. Select Create token.
The dialog shows the token and the command that adds Stout to Claude Code. Copy them before you close the dialog. Stout keeps only a hash of the token, so it cannot show the token again.
Keep a token secret, as you keep a password. Anyone with the token can read the boxes that you can access.
You can have up to 20 active tokens in each organization.

Revoke a token

To revoke a token, select Revoke next to the token, then select Revoke in the dialog. An agent that uses the token loses access at once.
